Our story began with a vision to share the beauty of Malawi beyond the ordinary. Zathu Experience celebrates the people, places, traditions, and stories that make our country unique, creating authentic experiences that leave a lasting impression.
Why we call it Zathu.
In Chichewa, "Zathu" means "ours." It speaks to a shared sense of belonging, pride, and responsibility for the places and stories that define us.
For many years now, Malawi has been referred to as the Warm Heart of Africa. However, there is much more to this wonderful country than meets the eye. There are wonderful stories, vibrant communities, diverse cultures, talented artisans, stunning natural scenery and many other things to explore beyond the known tourist hotspots.
Zathu Experience was created to provide visitors to Malawi a way to truly explore this amazing country, through its locals. We believe that the best experiences come from interacting directly with local guides and hosts, and gaining knowledge and memorable experiences from them.
Through enabling locals to showcase their culture, skills and experiences to visitors, we aim to build a sustainable tourism industry, where the local communities gain direct benefits from every booking.
